Welcoming LVHN’s 2025-2026 Resident Class

At Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), we are thrilled to welcome our newest resident trainee class: 96 exceptional medical graduates who will officially begin their journey with us on June 24. These talented health care professionals, selected from more than 12,000 applicants, bring fresh perspectives, diverse backgrounds and a commitment to excellence that will shape the future of patient care.

To mark this exciting transition, the graduate medical education (GME) department hosted a special mixer designed to welcome our incoming residents. This event served as an opportunity for trainees to connect, build relationships and become acquainted with the collaborative spirit of LVHN. Surrounded by faculty, mentors and peers, our new residents will begin to develop bonds that will support them throughout their time with us.

LVHN is more than just a great place to learn – it is a health network committed to supporting the personal and professional growth of every resident. Here are some key benefits our residents will experience:

• Leading-edge training programs. With 15 residency programs, including the exciting launch of diagnostic radiology welcoming its first five trainees, our residents benefit from a diverse and dynamic learning environment. More residency programs will be announced soon.
• A diverse cohort. The incoming class hails from 51 medical schools across 19 states, including from our academic affiliates: five trainees from University of South Florida, one from Thomas Jefferson University and 17 from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Their unique backgrounds enrich our health network and bring fresh insights to patient care.
• Outdoor spaces for well-being. We understand that a demanding residency requires balance. Our facilities provide access to outdoor spaces where residents can recharge, reflect and find moments of peace amid their busy schedules.
• Comprehensive mental health resources. Residency can be challenging, and LVHN prioritizes mental well-being by offering dedicated mental health resources, counseling services and wellness programs to ensure trainees feel supported at every step. Free and confidential help for family problems, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, substance use disorder and more is available from the Employee Assistance Program. LVHN has partnered with Marvin Behavioral Health to provide access to vetted therapists trained to support the mental health needs of health care workers. All LVHN colleagues have access to virtual therapy from experienced therapists.
• Meaningful relationships with leaders. LVHN fosters an environment where residents engage directly with esteemed faculty and hospital leaders. These connections provide mentorship, career guidance and opportunities for leadership development.

The merger between LVHN and Jefferson Health is a game changer for incoming residents, offering expanded access to top-tier medical education, research opportunities and specialized care. With more than 700 sites of care and 32 hospital campuses, residents will benefit from a broader network of experts, leading-edge clinical trials and enhanced training programs. This partnership also strengthens health equity efforts, ensuring urban and rural communities receive high-quality, affordable care.
