Barbara received her BA in business management and German language from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. While working for the University of Pennsylvania health care system, she earned her MBA from Drexel University. Her thirty-plus working years have included work in grant management, hospital finance, insurance carrier operations, practice management (both independent and hospital-owned practices), central department administration, physician billing and contracting, and business development. Barb joined LVHN in 1997, where she worked in Lehigh Valley Physician Group finance until she joined the Department of Family Medicine in 2009. She is always happy to talk about the business of healthcare; she has been instrumental in including learning sessions in the residency curriculum that cover practice finances, insurance carrier coding, leadership, process improvement and interviewing/contract negotiations.  In her personal time, Barb enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, two grown daughters, a first granddaughter, and rambunctious puppy.  Barb is always looking for any tips on dog training techniques!
