Hello, I’m Christina Black, and I’m the residency program director. I’m originally from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. I did my undergrad and medical school through Penn State University and my OBGYN residency at Georgetown University. I settled in Lehigh Valley in 2008 and have never regretted my decision. I love the community, the faculty, and obviously our residency. The best thing about our residency is the people. I’m a generalist with the hospital practice, Lehigh Valley Physician Group OBGYN. I love spending time on the labor floor and still enjoy night call. I have a passion for outpatient ambulatory care and honestly enjoy having an office day that is a mix of different people and issues. The best aspect about being an OBGYN is getting to know my patients and talking them through their options and solutions for whatever life throws at them.

Previous to becoming the program director, I was the SELECT USF medical student clerkship director at Lehigh Valley. I have always enjoyed educating and sharing patient experiences with the students and the residents. Being a program director allows me to advocate for people that I genuinely care about. I want to ensure that we strive to give every resident the best educational experience in a supportive environment. We all know residency is not easy, and our residents have created a culture where everyone has each other’s backs.

I have countless blessings, with the biggest being married and having two children who all create adventure and fun in my daily life. I love cooking and entertaining friends and always am looking for the next thing to do. The beautiful Pennsylvania hills are where myself and my family have decided to call home. We are extremely happy to have our work family, who I would not trade for the world.
