Hi, I’m Nissa Gossom, and I am a nurse-midwife with LVPG Obstetrics and Gynecology. I am originally from Los Angeles. I went to college outside of Los Angeles and then moved to Cleveland for nursing and midwifery school. I also found my husband there, and we moved to the Lehigh Valley right after we were married.

We love this community, and it is a good mix for my Midwestern husband and California self. We have beautiful countryside with lakes, rivers and hills for hiking, and we are only an hour from Philly and an hour-and-a-half from Manhattan. We have found a wonderful community and great friends here. Outside of work, I love to spend time exploring the area with my family and our dog. I have two daughters who keep me very busy, and I love to bake, garden and read.

I provide full-scope midwifery care, which means that I see patients in the office for general OB-GYN care and help to manage labor and birth in the hospital. I love seeing the full spectrum and that I have patients who  I am able to help with the birth of their children, care for them in their pregnancies and then continue providing care for them in an office gynecologic setting. I enjoy building relationships with my patients and working with them to help them achieve their best health.

Throughout my time at Lehigh Valley Health Network, I have discovered a passion for education. I love working with our residents, medical students, physician assistant students, nurse practitioner students and midwifery students to help them grow and learn.
