Trujillo earned her bachelor's degree in biology from University of San Diego and her master's degree in genetic counseling from Columbia University. She is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners.
