HIV/AIDS: Felt-stigma and adherence in Hispanics LWHA: a study of a cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary approach: phase II (1_PRO00000305)

Description

In step one, two separate focus groups, one of all men and one of all women, will be conducted with participants of Puerto Rican descent who are living with HIV/AIDS (LWHA). Participants will be asked about aspects related to the content, semantic and conceptual analysis of each item of the HIV Felt-Stigma Scale. Step two will involve four focus groups, each one divided by gender and place of birth (US or Puerto Rico). Participants, in discussions led by a facilitator and an assistant facilitator, will be asked about their experiences as LWHA. Discussions in Spanish will take place in private rooms, with each participant having the option to choose a name or designation by which to be identified for confidentiality.

Eligibility

Inclusion Criteria
  • Age 21 years or older
  • Of Puerto Rican descent LWHA
  • Willingness to participate in survey test activities
