Your pregnancy is uniquely your own, and your Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) care team is here to help you experience it the way you want. That means providing you with real options that give you more control over your journey to a successful delivery.

Are virtual care appointments a convenience you would opt for where possible? Would you prefer to see a midwife? Does your unique situation require specialized attention? In every case, we’re ready to deliver prenatal and obstetric care your way.

Consider Five Unique Approaches to Maternity

This is our standard approach to prenatal care. It includes traditional face-to-face visits with a clinician, visits with a registered nurse and prenatal education webinars. Available to patients across LVHN, this is the type of care our patients have trusted for years and you can rely on with confidence today.

Our virtual prenatal care option helps save expectant women time by offering virtual visits after the second trimester. During the first and second trimesters, expectant women will have standard Maternity Care. Then, in the third trimester, traditional visits will alternate with virtual visits, which involve real-time remote monitoring of blood pressure, weight and the baby’s heart rate using monitoring equipment provided by the practice.

Expectant women can now opt for midwifery services thanks to the opening of LVPG Midwifery–Pond Road, the area’s first facility dedicated to providing outpatient midwifery services. Focused on a more intimate, wellness-based, high-touch, low-intervention, personalized approach to maternity care, our certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) safely provide pregnancy care from conception through delivery and postpartum.

Our Midwifery Care option also provides women with the opportunity to participate in Centering Pregnancy™, a patented group prenatal care model proven to decrease pregnancy-associated complications. Visits include facilitated group education and one-on-one time with your clinician.

Women experiencing high-risk pregnancies can have peace of mind knowing our High-Risk Integrated Care offering is here to support you. Our clinical team will determine if this pathway is right for you. Available at dedicated locations, including Pond Road, Madison Farms and Trexlertown, this approach focuses on continuous care coordination between our obstetrics/gynecologic and maternal fetal medicine practices.
