About

Philosophy of care

The most important person who walks into my office is the patient. I belong to a number of organizations including Rotary, which uses the motto "service above self," and I carry that motto into my practice. It is important to be responsive to a patient's needs and to do all that I possibly can to work with them to achieve the goal of good oral health. Prevention of illness is important in my practice, and so patient education about their condition and the ways to prevent dental diseases are my practice's most important goals. My staff shares my philosophy and we work together as a team to provide the best possible care to our patients.

Why I entered medicine

As a high school student, I started looking at the various career options in medicine and dentistry. I liked dentistry because it allows me the opportunity to work with my hands as well as to help people. I looked into the profession and decided that the ability to help people improve their smiles and their overall oral health made dentistry an attractive profession. I worked hard in high school and college to achieve my dream of entering dental school. It's a great profession with many rewards and opportunities to give back to the community.

Community involvement

I am a founding member of the Rotary Club of Bethlehem Morning Start and have been the inaugural president since 1989. Previously, I belonged to the Rotary Club of Bethlehem (downtown) since 1984. I am co-chair of Rotary District 7430 Camp Neidig Committee, a leadership program for rising high school seniors in Berks, Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh and Northampton Counties. I am a choir member and former Sunday School Teacher, Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Bethlehem. I am a former Assistant Scout Master, Boy Scouts of America Troop 72, Fogelsville, Pa. I am a former Lacrosse Coach (9 years) for Schnecksville Playground Association's youth program (U-13 and U-15 levels). I am president of the Second District Dental Association (Lehigh, Northampton, Montgomery, Bucks, Chester and Delaware Counties) and delegate to the Pennsylvania Dental Association.

Personal interests

Most of my personal interests are related to the community programs I am involved with - Rotary, Dental Association and church. I also enjoy travelling when possible and following professional and college sports, particularly football and lacrosse.
