About
Philosophy of care
My philosophy centers on prevention, education and partnership. The best cardiovascular care focuses on preventing disease rather than reacting after problems develop. So I work with you to identify risk factors early and create plans that fit your lifestyle. I emphasize small, consistent changes, because sustainable habits lead to the best long-term outcomes. While medications are sometimes necessary, I prioritize lifestyle approaches, including nutrition, physical activity, sleep and stress management. Patients should understand the “why” behind every recommendation. My goal is to provide you thoughtful, evidence-based care while helping you feel empowered and confident in managing your heart health.
Why I entered medicine
Medicine brings together my passion for understanding physiology, solving complex problems and helping people. Even early in training I was fascinated by how the body works, particularly the intricate physiology of the heart. I enjoy the diagnostic challenge of evaluating symptoms, interpreting data and working toward the answer. Cardiology allows me to combine analytical problem-solving with meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and families. I take time to listen, understand each person’s story and provide thoughtful guidance. I also enjoy teaching and explaining complex concepts in a way that makes sense, helping patients feel more confident in their care. My goal is to provide careful, thorough evaluations and evidence-based recommendations from the very first visit. The combination of science, problem-solving and human connection continues to make medicine so rewarding to me.
Community involvement
At church I participate in community outreach and service initiatives. My wife and I often host small groups in our home and enjoy building relationships and supporting others. We are involved in our children’s schools and love helping with activities and events. I also have a strong interest in community education, particularly heart health and prevention. Helping people better understand risk factors such as blood pressure, cholesterol and lifestyle habits can make a lasting impact.
Personal interests
I enjoy time with my wife and our four daughters. Much of our free time is spent outdoors hiking, biking, swimming, or just enjoying family time. I also enjoy playing sports such as soccer and pickleball. Staying active helps me maintain a healthy lifestyle and brings perspective to my work. I am also a passionate sports fan and enjoy following professional and collegiate sports as well as participating in fantasy leagues. These interests help me connect with patients and maintain the ever-important work-life balance.
