About

Philosophy of care

When treating you I believe in a holistic approach. Your physical, mental, social and environmental well-being are interrelated. Struggling in one of these areas typically leads to struggles in others, and it is important to reach the root of the problem. In psychiatry, a combination of medical and behavioral therapy is used. My goal is to best tend to these issues so you can live your most fulfilling life.

Why I entered medicine

I was attracted to medicine in undergraduate school when I had to take a human anatomy course. The class was fascinating and led me to a few entry level health care jobs and several shadowing experiences. I learned I could integrate my interest in the sciences with helping others through their physical and mental ailments. Medicine tends to involve encountering people at their most vulnerable. Being able to help someone through those times is an incredibly rewarding and honoring experience.

Community involvement

I work with Community Volunteers in Medicine.

Personal interests

Pursuits outside work include running, hiking, reading, basketball and UFC (mixed martial arts); current and classic cinema; psychology and philosophy.
