About

Philosophy of care

I prioritize your concerns and your right to optimal care in your community. My philosophy is rooted in compassion and holistic understanding. I treat both the disease and the individual. Regarding critical care, I provide calm, thoughtful leadership, making clinical decisions while honoring your dignity and wishes. I advocate for, educate and support not patients but also their loved ones. Patient-centered, collaborative care defines my approach in both the ICU and the pulmonary clinic, whether treating life-threatening diseases or respiratory disorders.

Why I entered medicine

I entered medicine driven by a desire to help people, and pulmonary and critical care offered the perfect intersection of high impact, intellectually stimulating and deeply rewarding care. My passion for lung nodule diagnostics, particularly through advanced bronchoscopic techniques, grew from witnessing how early, accurate detection can alter the trajectory of a patient’s life. The precision and innovation of these procedures fascinates me, but even more compelling is the opportunity to bring clarity and hope in moments of uncertainty. Combining technology with compassionate care allows me to offer not just answers, but also reassurance, and that reinspires my commitment to this field every day.

Community involvement

As a board member of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, my charitable and community involvement is driven by a commitment to reducing the burden of cancer in our region through education, early detection and access to care.

Personal interests

Outside of medicine, my greatest joy comes from time with my wife, Amber, a dedicated oncologist, and our four children. I am also a passionate Penn State football fan and a lifelong supporter of the New York Yankees.
