About

Philosophy of care

My philosophy is founded on providing patients and families with a non-judgmental resource to achieve both our goals by making life easier for you and your family to maintain the best health. With your input and preferences, together we can find the best way to manage blood glucose in a safe range.

Why I entered medicine

My desire to work with children diagnosed with diabetes stems from my own diabetes diagnosis at a very young age. I connect with patients to help educate them on diagnosis, prevention, treatment and navigating obstacles throughout childhood, adolescence and preparing for adulthood. I have expert knowledge of all technical devices (CGM, insulin pumps, smart insulin pens, etc.) to help each child and family decide on the best system for them.

Community involvement

My involvements include Breakthrough T1D, a global type 1 diabetes research and advocacy organization; the American Diabetes Association and the American Association of Pediatrics. I help with community diabetes education for school nurses, primary care clinicians and nursing staff (inpatient and outpatient).

Personal interests

I enjoy relaxing with a good, funny movie. I also make time for outdoor exercise such as walking and hiking.
