About
Philosophy of care
My philosophy centers on evidence-based medicine with a deeply personalized approach. Optimal cardiovascular health is achieved through collaboration between patient and physician and across multidisciplinary teams. My goal is not only to treat disease, but also to educate, empower and support you in making informed decisions about your health. I deliver compassionate, patient-centered care that integrates the latest advances in cardiology with respect for your values, goals and quality of life.
Why I entered medicine
My decision was deeply shaped by my grandfather, a dairy farmer. He developed severe aortic stenosis and, despite his strength and resilience, limited access to care and a late diagnosis ultimately led to his passing. Witnessing his struggle and the impact it had on my family revealed how profoundly cardiovascular disease can affect an entire community. The experience inspired my commitment to become a physician – to better understand heart disease, to advance early detection and treatment and to provide the compassionate, accessible care my grandfather didn’t have.
Community involvement
Traveling to Haiti on medical mission trips has shaped my perspective as a physician. Working in communities with limited access to health care reminded me of the true essence of medicine – compassion, adaptability and service. I learned to deliver care with resourcefulness and humility, often relying on clinical judgment and teamwork in challenging conditions. These experiences deepened my commitment to global health equity and reinforced my belief that every patient, regardless of circumstance, deserves dignity, respect and access to quality care.
Personal interests
I find balance and joy through time with my family. I enjoy running and time outdoors, especially at the park with my children, where I’m reminded daily of the importance of presence and connection. Family time is central to my life, and I value activities that bring us together – especially cooking, which has a unique way of connecting generations. Sharing a meal represents much of what I value most: care, togetherness and the simple joy of nurturing others.
