Breast Health Services
Looking and feeling good don't just happen—they require commitment to making your health a top priority. When it comes to breast health, that means doing regular self-examinations and scheduling annual mammograms.
At Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), we work hard to be your partner in health. That’s why we offer screening and diagnostic mammograms performed by certified technologists using advanced technology for both 2-D and 3-D mammography.
Screening mammograms are performed at nine convenient locations. Results are available after comparing your images against your prior breast imaging and are shared with you via letter and/or through MyLVHN.
Diagnostic breast imaging studies for a breast concern are performed at three of our locations. For new problems, you will meet with our certified breast care nurse (CBCN) and proceed to a diagnostic mammogram and/or ultrasound. A prescription and/or referral is needed. Results are provided immediately. If a biopsy is necessary, our dedicated team will provide support, education and prompt scheduling for a stereotactic or ultrasound-guided biopsy.

Screening versus diagnostic mammograms
An annual screening mammogram looks for suspicious changes in your breast tissue. Most screening mammograms include X-ray images of each breast using top-down and side-views.
You may schedule a screening mammogram directly on MyLVHN provided you are age 40+ and have not had a mammogram in the last 365 days. If you are younger than 40, a prescription from your doctor or health care provider is required.
To schedule your screening mammogram on MyLVHN, log in to your MyLVHN account, select the Schedule an Appointment icon and then click the Screening Mammogram button. MyLVHN app users should select the Appointments icon and then press Screening Mammogram.

If a problem is suspected, your provider may order a diagnostic mammogram to further evaluate your screening results. A diagnostic mammogram will include additional images as requested by your radiologist. An ultrasound also may be ordered to provide more information for diagnosis. Results are available immediately.
