SummaryThe Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and day-to-day operations of the Health Care Futures (HCF) program within multiple school districts. Facilitates progressive opportunities for academic advancement and health care career exploration including education, mentorship, internships, on-the-job-training, and scholarship opportunities leading to potential employment with LVHN in a foundational role following high school graduation.
Job Duties
- Supports program leadership to plan, organize, and participate in the coordination, development, and implementation of projects, to meet strategic goals.
- Participates in student recruitment, onboarding, and retention for the program. Communicates continuous areas of opportunity.
- Establishes and maintains formal partnerships with students, school-based personnel, and multi-disciplinary department stakeholders to ensure timely completion of student rotations.
- Prepares verbal and/or written activity, project status reports, and presentation materials for program leadership.
- Tracks pre and post program data including internship placements, completion of required certifications (e.g., CPR/BLS, scholarships, conversions to employment and program satisfaction and provides regular impact reports.
- Serves as the primary liaison between students, host departments, and program leadership.
- Maintains a running log of program challenges and escalates issues to program leadership as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Social Work or related field or
- equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 3 years experience in public or community health setting, project management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively engage students, school personnel, and clinical staff.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, MS Forms, Outlook); proficient with timesheet and documentation tools.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and institutional policy.
Preferred Qualifications- 5 years experience in public or community health setting, project management, career development.
- Experience working with high school-age students or in a K–12 educational setting.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Knowledge of the Lehigh Valley regional healthcare landscape and community resources.
Additional QualificationsPhysical DemandsLift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
