Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Position Overview

LVHN is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable place for our community to overcome life’s challenges. Our team of psychiatrists, psychologists, physician assistants, certified registered nurse practitioners, licensed clinical social workers, psychiatric nurses and occupational therapists work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for their patients.

 

In addition to our inpatient behavioral health services at LVH–Muhlenberg, LVH–Schuylkill, and LVH–Pocono, we provide short-term services at LVH­­–Muhlenberg and LVH–Cedar Crest, including individual, couples, family, and group therapy, and when indicated, medication management to children, adolescents, adults and older adults. We provide a full continuum of care in behavioral health from emergency evaluation to intensive care, partial hospitalization, outpatient follow-up, homecare and skilled nursing facility consultation. We are growing the Department of Psychiatry which currently comprises more than 40+ Psychiatrists and 120 mental health professionals. In 2019, we enthusiastically welcomed our first class into the Lehigh Valley Psychiatry residency.

 

  • Location: Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest and Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg (Allentown and Bethlehem, PA)
  • Schedule:  onsite 8 am – 5 pm at Allentown and Bethlehem locations and virtually for all other campuses 
  • Call: One weekend per month with two weekday compensation days
  • Working with Consultation Liaison team of physicians, APCs, and residents

     

    Our Consultation Liaison Service utilizes a team of board-certified psychiatrists, advanced practice clinicians, and other clinical staff to provide mental health evaluation and consultation services for patients in medical areas of the hospital.

     

    This team specializes in the link between physical and mental disorders and includes psychiatric medication management for patients with medical co-morbidities, as well as treatment recommendations for patients with catastrophic illnesses in Trauma, Burn, and other medical units throughout Lehigh Valley Hospital Network.

Qualifications

 

  • Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified
  • A current PA Medical License or ability to obtain one is required
