At Lehigh Valley Fleming Neuroscience Institute, we bridge the gap between neurology and ophthalmology to ensure you receive the best care of neurologic disorders that affect vision and eye movements.

Lehigh Valley Fleming Neuroscience Institute’s neuro-ophthalmologists have specialized training and expertise in diagnosing and treating even the most complicated neurological vision problems.

Neuro-ophthalmologists diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Optic neuritis from disorders such as multiple sclerosis
  • Ischemic optic neuropathy
  • Optic nerve edema (swelling)
  • Retinal strokes, including central retinal artery occlusion
  • Vision loss related to other neurologic conditions like migraine, stroke, seizures and dementia
  • Transient vision changes
  • Double vision
  • Eye misalignment (strabismus)
  • Thyroid eye disease
  • Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (formerly pseudotumor cerebri)
  • Ocular myasthenia gravis
  • Pupil abnormalities
  • Eyelid disorders including eyelid drooping (ptosis) and eyelid spasm (blepharospasm)
  • Genetic disorders of the optic nerve including Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON)
