EPEC is ranked as one of the top 400 ambulatory surgical centers by Newsweek for the second year running.

For the second year in a row, Eastern Pennsylvania Endoscopy Center (EPEC) is being recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers for 2022.

Newsweek partnered with research firm Statista to compile the list, which includes the top 400 ambulatory surgical centers in 25 states with the most ambulatory facilities according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Hospitals included on this list are graded on quality of care, performance data and peer recommendations relative to in-state competition.

“Being recognized as one of the country’s top ambulatory facilities is something each colleague working at EPEC should be proud of. We treat patients from around the region and provide the highest level of care with safety as our top priority,” says Anthony Auteri, MD, Chief, Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) Division of Gastroenterology.

EPEC and LVHN formed a joint venture to deliver high-quality care from state-of-the art endoscopy centers in Allentown, Pa.  EPEC specializes in endoscopic examination and treatment of upper and lower gastrointestinal tract illnesses.

Physicians who perform the procedures work for Eastern Pennsylvania Gastroenterology and Liver Specialists (EPGI) and have a long-standing, exclusive clinical alignment with LVHN. The practice is comprised of 22 board-certified gastroenterologists. Procedures performed at EPEC include upper endoscopy, screening colonoscopy and diagnostic colonoscopy.
