Lehigh Valley Health Network is offering free Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccinations for children 5-11 years old on Tuesday, May 24, from 3-7 p.m. in the first-floor conference room at the Health Center at Fogelsville, 1431 Nursery St., Fogelsville.
No appointment is necessary for this event. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was approved children 5-11 years old in November, and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine booster shots for that age group were approved this week.
While children are less likely to be severely affected by COVID-19 than individuals in other age groups, they can still become infected, experience symptoms from the disease, lose days from school and other activities, and, in some cases, need to be hospitalized.
