Lehigh Valley Hospital–Pocono Earns Patient Safety Recognition

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) honored LVH–Pocono with an Excellence in Patient Safety Award for preventing infections during hospital stays. LVH–Pocono is among 21 hospitals from across Pennsylvania to receive this honor.

HAP identifies top-performing hospitals using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Healthcare Safety Network.

To be recognized with an Excellence in Patient Safety Award, hospitals must perform better than the mean standardized infection ratio in three key measures, including central line-associated bloodstream infections, catheter-associated urinary tract infections and Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) infections.
