LVPG Welcomes New Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Practice

Robert Zemble, MD, is already a familiar face to many in the Allentown medical community.

In October, he became the first board certified allergist to join the LVPG family. His practice — now known as LVPG Allergy, Asthma and Immunology — provides quality care for people of all ages.

Before joining LVPG, Zemble was affiliated with Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest as an independent physician for 13 years.

His academic credentials include a residency at Columbia University and fellowship training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

“My focus is on a variety of diseases under the atopic umbrella,” Zemble says. Among the conditions he diagnoses and treats are:

• Asthma
• Allergic rhinitis
• Environmental allergy
• Food allergy
• Medication allergy
• Atopic dermatitis
• Contact dermatitis
• Stinging insect allergy

Zemble provides a wide range of services, including allergy testing for environmental, food and medication allergies; medication and food challenges; medication desensitization; and environmental and venom allergen immunotherapy. In addition, his practice is the first in the area to offer oral immunotherapy for food allergies.

“Often, a patient will have allergic rhinitis, asthma and atopic dermatitis,” Zemble says. “Similar immunologic processes underlie these conditions. An allergist/immunologist has the expertise to address them all.”
