New Provider Seeing Patients at LVH–Schuylkill Adult Behavioral Health

Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Schuylkill Adult Behavioral Health at LVH–Schuylkill S. Jackson Street welcomes licensed psychiatrist Akram Elawady, MD.

He joins the LVH–Schuylkill Adult Behavioral Health program after completing his residency in psychiatry at Delaware Psychiatric Center in New Castle, Delaware. Elawady specializes in inpatient adult and geriatric psychiatry.

The hospital’s Adult Behavioral Health program offers a variety of treatment approaches provided by multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.

Care teams may include registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, social workers, psychologists, mental health technicians, activity therapists and aides. Psychiatrists tailor treatment plans to meet people’s individual needs.

Treatment plans offered in the program include group, individual and family therapies; diagnostic and evaluation services; educational programs; activity therapies; and medication. LVH–Schuylkill S. Jackson Street is located at 420 S. Jackson St., Pottsville.
