Cynthia is a Washington, D.C. native, fluently bilingual in Spanish and English, and is a proud graduate of St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. With a career spanning more than 10 years as a registered nurse before transitioning to family medicine, she brings a profound dedication to public and community health, a wealth of experience and a patient-centered approach to her practice. Her patient-care philosophy mirrors that of treating individuals like family, prioritizing cultural competency and having a holistic view of health care. She also holds the notable distinction of being a first-generation college and medical school graduate. Cynthia’s pursuit of higher education was a journey paved with the values of community advocacy and support, instilled by her Guatemalan parents. Her passion in medicine lies at the intersection of women’s health, adolescent medicine and health care policy, as well as mentoring and inspiring future STEM professionals. In her leisure time, Cynthia enjoys the simple pleasures of exploring her neighborhood with her dogs, socializing with friends and family, savoring live music and actively participating in community events across the vibrant landscape of the Lehigh Valley and Washington, D.C. Cynthia looks forward to serving the community here at Lehigh Valley Health Network and beyond.
