About
Philosophy of care
I educate patients on their conditions so they can participate in health care decision-making, increasing their own quality of life. This is especially important in rehabilitation, where the relationship between disease and functional difficulties may be unidentifiable. Through understanding, you can take control and ownership of your conditions.
Why I entered medicine
I entered medicine by accident, thinking I lacked enough medical background to be an effective biomedical engineer. I wound up in physical medicine and rehabilitation after literally falling in love with talking to/learning about my patients, and helping them via physiatry and engineering problem-solving.
Community involvement
I enjoy tutoring high school and college-level mathematics and physics, as well as clinically mentoring biomedical engineering students.
Personal interests
I like gourmet cooking, digital photography and nautical knot tying.
