Offered by a partnership between Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School and Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), this program combines skills-based, interactive and honors-level classroom learning with observation in a health care setting.
The Academy of Medical Science Program is designed for high-achieving high school seniors interested in the health care field and allows students the opportunity to explore careers in health care firsthand. Students are exposed to a variety of shadowing, simulation and other educational opportunities at LVHN locations. Students are provided with multiple presentations and experiential learning experiences from master’s- and doctoral-educated staff.
In addition, through interaction with LVHN talent acquisition and higher education partners, students engage in career and post-secondary planning.
High school juniors who reside in participating Northampton County school districts are eligible to apply.
