Orthopedic Surgery Residency Curriculum

We have developed a comprehensive curriculum utilizing the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Resident Orthopaedic Core Knowledge curriculum and other resources, with weekly didactic time planned for Friday afternoons.

We have extensive simulation resources, a state-of-the-art surgical lab for monthly dissections and procedural practice, monthly journal clubs, and individual service conferences.

PGY-1

Four-week blocks consisting of General Surgery Trauma (two), Plastic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Hospitalist/Rheumatology, Anesthesia, Surgical Skills Month, Orthopedic Trauma (two), Adult Reconstruction (two), and General Orthopedics (two).

PGY-2

Trauma, Sports, Spine, Pediatrics, and Foot and Ankle.

PGY-3

Trauma, Adult Reconstruction, Hand, “Rural,” and Elective.

PGY-4

Trauma, Pediatrics (Children’s Hospital), Spine, Sports, and Float.

PGY-5

Trauma, Adult Reconstruction, Hand, Foot and Ankle, and Elective.
