To help you get quality sleep, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hazleton’s Sleep Center uses the most advanced technology and state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose sleep disorders.

How do I know if I qualify for a sleep study?

If you are experiencing disruptive sleep patterns or not getting enough sleep, talk to your health care provider, If he/she determines a sleep study would benefit you, verify with your insurance carrier that the study is covered. You will also need a referral from your health care provider. We understand some people may have difficulty sleeping outside the home. That’s why we’ve created a comfortable, relaxing, non-clinical environment that feels like home.

We offer:

  • Highly skilled physicians and polysomnography technicians who provide comprehensive diagnostic services
  • A state of the art facility with modern, high-tech diagnostic equipment
  • Comfortable, hotel-like accommodations
  • A shower available for use

Testing

Testing is provided during daytime and nighttime hours to accommodate any sleep or work schedule. We perform a variety of tests, including diagnostic studies, therapeutic studies, multiple sleep latency tests and maintenance of wakefulness tests.

Home Sleep Testing

Your physician might recommend that you complete home sleep testing if there is suspicion that you are suffering from obstructive sleep apnea. To schedule a sleep test, you will need a prescription from a referring physician. You will meet with a trained medical professional at one of our convenient locations to pick up the sleep testing equipment and receive easy-to-follow instructions and a demonstration showing how to properly use the equipment. The equipment is taken home where you will complete your sleep test. Once you have completed your sleep test, you will return the equipment to the same location where it was dispensed. The data will be downloaded and analyzed by one of our board-certified sleep physicians. Test results will be sent to your referring physician. After the test has been interpreted, you will be asked to make an appointment to meet with one of our sleep specialists to review the results.

Call 570-501-1334 to request an appointment to pick up your home sleep testing equipment at this location. Learn more about our sleep testing locations
