In an emergency, you can trust in the care at Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Hazleton. The emergency room at LVH–Hazleton is a Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation accredited Level IV trauma center. For you, this means LVH–Hazleton has the resources immediately available to provide optimal care and reduce the likelihood of death or disability if you have been critically injured or have suffered a serious health event, like a stroke.
LVH–Hazleton ER offers:
Our Level IV trauma center, the only one in lower Luzerne County, is accredited by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation. We also work closely with the Level I trauma center at LVH–Cedar Crest through our telehealth program.
We partner with LVHN’s other hospital locations in the award-winning MI Alert Program. If you have a heart attack, this program enables us to quickly identify the condition and transfer you to a partner with the resources to provide the best in treatment in 90 minutes or less.
We are a Joint Commission–certified Primary Stroke Center. Our Stroke-Alert Program ensures that potential stroke patients are quickly assessed and undergo a CT scan in 20 minutes or less. Patients needing additional medical attention are transferred to a larger LVHN facility.
Most people who visit our ER do not need to be transported by helicopter. But for those who do, LVHN–MedEvac is now permanently housed at LVH–Hazleton’s helipad, with a specially educated crew on-site 24/7 to continue medical care during transport.
