Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Wound Healing Center specializes in the care of all types of nonhealing and difficult-to-heal wounds, sores and ulcers, including pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and leg ulcers resulting from circulatory problems. We also offer care and treatment for patients having ostomy-related skin and appliance problems. We have cared for more than 50,000 wounds since 1998.
We use the most advanced treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, to ensure optimal healing. Our goal is to heal your wound within 12 to 14 weeks and to help you prevent it from coming back.
Our wound healing team includes plastic and general surgeons, podiatrists, infectious disease and family medicine physicians, advanced practice nurse clinicians and nurses certified by the American Board of Wound Management. This certification identifies our nurses as experts in the treatment of acute and chronic wounds, the impact of chronic health conditions on wound healing, wound management, and prevention strategies.
You’ll also have access to other specialists you may need, such as vascular surgeons, physical therapists, footwear experts (pedorthotists) and others who can aid the wound healing process.
We offer both inpatient and outpatient wound and ostomy care services at this location and at Wound Healing Center–Muhlenberg, which is home to two state-of-the-art hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers. Note that a physician referral is not always needed for wound care but is required for hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
