Lehigh Valley Children's Hospital

Single Port Robotic Surgery

Lehigh Valley Health Network is one of 15 hospitals in the world using the da Vinci SP® single port robotic surgery system. Single port surgeries are performed through one incision, resulting in less pain, fewer scars, and quicker recovery. With just a few in the world, single port surgery is at the leading edge of innovation.

Imagine returning to life after surgery with a single scar. Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is getting patients in and out of surgery with fewer incisions, fewer scars, and reduced down-time with the addition of the da Vinci SP® (single port) robotic surgery system. The SP performs delicate surgeries through a single one-inch incision. An incision of that size shortens your healing process significantly while limiting complications that could keep you from getting back to work and daily life activities.

Up-to-the-minute technology

The da Vinci SP is the latest robotic-assisted technology cleared by the FDA for minimally invasive urologic surgical procedures. And at LVHN, you have access to the only one of its kind in the region.

Single port, single scar

The da Vinci SP system provides surgeons with robotic-assisted technology designed for deep and narrow access to tissue in the body. The ability to enter the body through a single, small incision helps surgeons perform more complex procedures that result in less pain and fewer complications.

Part of a program with proven excellence

The SP enhances LVHN’s robotic surgery program which is the region’s largest and leading robotic surgery program. We’ve performed over 14,000 surgeries since 2008, with 10 robots spanning all LVHN campuses.

A team you can trust

Our extensively-trained robotics surgery team includes more than thirty surgeons across 11 specialties, including gynecology, thoracic surgery, bariatrics and urology.
