NICU Receives $61,500 Donation

To support our region’s premature babies and their families, the Lehigh Valley Commercial & Industrial Real Estate Foundation has donated $61,500 to Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

“We are extremely grateful for this donation and the continual support this foundation has shown the Children’s Hospital over the years,” says Wendy Kowalski, MD, Chief of Neonatology for Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. “This donation and years prior have helped us support our NICU’s premature and critically ill infants through new equipment and enhanced programs.”

The funds were raised in 2022 as part of an annual Awards Breakfast hosted by the Lehigh Valley Commercial & Industrial Real Estate Foundation. Since it was first held in 1993, the event has raised over $1 million for programs supporting premature babies and their families throughout the region.

The donation will be used to purchase state-of-the-art equipment to advance the NICU’s capabilities even further. The Level IV NICU at Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital, located on the campus of Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, provides the highest level of NICU care in the region, able to care for babies born at all ages and weights, including infants who have critical illnesses or congenital anomalies requiring surgery and subspecialty care. Pediatric surgery and neonatal surgery are available on-site.
