As a sterile processing technician, he works behind the scenes to make sure operating rooms run smoothly
Being #LVHNProud means not just caring about your job, but also caring about the people you work alongside. This rings true for Raymond Flyte, a Sterile Processing Technician at LVH–Muhlenberg. In his fourth year at LVHN, he is proud of the work he does every day behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly in the operating room.
A sterile processing technician is responsible for ensuring all trays and single instruments used for surgery are sterile and in good working order. They do so in a timely manner to make sure surgeries stay on schedule.
One of the reasons Flyte is #LVHNProud is the community he has found here. Flyte feels respected and enjoys coming to work every day. He’s grateful for his manager, Tammy Pintabone, who cares about her team and goes out of her way to help anyone who needs it.
“I couldn't ask for a better manager,” he says.
After more than 30 years in this career, Flyte has found his home at LVHN.
“For me, LVHN is a great place to work mostly because the colleague well-being is prioritized,” says Flyte. “All the extra things they do to make colleagues feel respected as well as happy about working here is just mind-blowing to me.”
