Initially, we look to enhance the “human” performance of each athlete through off-field cross-training activities designed to maximize proper movement patterns unique to that individual. Then we apply those patterns in order to maximize on-field performance in your sport.
Our goal at LVHN Sports Performance is to make sure we give each athlete tools he or she will need to excel on the field of play. We have programs that are specific to the level of development of each age group.
Youth – 8 to 11 years old
FUN-damentals of movement through cross training: This program is what we call structured play while teaching proper techniques for running, jumping, skipping, hopping, squatting, lunging and crawling. We apply them in team games such as floor hockey and indoor soccer. The focus is on fun activities for children.
Junior Varsity – 12 to 14 years old
Improving movement quality through strength and speed: In this program, the evaluation process of the individual athlete becomes the focus. We look to correct deficiencies in movement, in general fitness, in techniques for handling one’s body weight and in spatial awareness as the athlete goes through the period in life with the most significant growth and physical change.
Varsity – 15 to 18 years old
Training sport specific attributes to create an athletic advantage during competition: In this program, we’re fine-tuning the human performance aspects and utilizing those skills to get the most out of their on-field sports performance. How do these skills make the athlete a better football or field hockey player? How can the athlete reach his or her potential in basketball or swimming? This program is geared to making that happen as it applies to each individual.
Functional movement screen
A functional movement screen (FMS) is a tool that analyzes movement patterns. An FMS evaluation may help detect any faulty or compensatory movements that were caused by previous injury and dysfunction within movement patterns that could potentially lead to future injury. Evaluations with this tool present a roadmap to maximizing an athlete’s performance. LVHN’s Sports Performance staff includes trainers who are specially certified in FMS.
Zephyr Technologies BioHarness
This instrument can give real-time physiological and biometric feedback to gauge intensity and duration of an exercise session. This is another tool used by LVHN’s trainers to maximize sports performance and make your athlete the best he or she can be.
Dartfish video analysis
Dartfish is video software utilized by our providers to analyze performance movements. Dartfish also features digital video graphics that can enhance visual feedback instantaneously in different ways. It permits the athlete and the provider to examine performance deficiencies in extensive visual detail, and also charts the road to correcting them.
