Living with physical, developmental or cognitive impairments is difficult. LVHN occupational therapists help develop a plan to manage your condition, allowing you to achieve the highest level of function.

Learning to live with certain challenges, like physical impairments or developmental delays, isn’t easy. Our certified occupational therapists help you achieve as much independence as possible.

They design an individual treatment plan tailored to your unique needs to achieve your goals.

The right occupational therapy plan for you

Your treatment plan will reflect your personal goals and abilities. Your LVHN occupational therapy team develops your therapy to meet your capabilities. They help you develop your skill set so you can achieve greater independence.

Depending on your personal needs, your therapy sessions may focus on:

  • Activities of daily living (such as eating, bathing, dressing, cooking)
  • Strengthening
  • Range of motion
  • Endurance

We also help improve communication and cognitive skills by developing your ability to read, write and make telephone calls.

Making your home work for you

If necessary, LVHN occupational therapists make suggestions for changes to the layout of your home or workplace to help you remain self-sufficient.

Certified hand specialists

The LVHN occupational therapy team includes certified hand specialists. These health care providers help you regain hand function diminished by a medical condition or after surgery or an injury, and provide custom splinting.

Occupational therapy for children

Our pediatric rehabilitation program includes occupational therapy designed specifically for children. Our specially trained pediatric occupational therapists help children succeed with tailored treatment plans to enhance their life skills.

Care that’s close by

Our occupational therapists help individuals in more than 40 inpatient and outpatient locations throughout the area. We make it easy to get the help you need.
