  4. Otolaryngology–Head and Neck (ENT) Surgery

At Lehigh Valley Institute for Surgical Excellence, part of Jefferson Health, our otolaryngologists, commonly known as ENT doctors, include head and neck surgeons who have vast experience in evaluations, advanced imaging and diagnostic tools, and surgical treatments for many conditions of the head and neck.

What conditions do head and neck surgeons treat?

Your primary care clinician may refer you for otolaryngology–head and neck surgery (OHNS) if you are potentially experiencing any of these conditions:

  • Thyroid and parathyroid disorders
  • Salivary gland disease
  • Head and neck tumors or neck masses and cysts
  • Chronic sinus and airway disorders
  • Vocal cord and swallowing conditions
  • Facial paralysis and reconstruction

What surgical procedures are performed?

You’ll receive the most technically advanced care combined with friendly, personal attention. Procedures range from removal of head and neck tumors and thyroid and parathyroid surgery, to neck dissection (removing lymph nodes to test for cancer cells). We also perform skull-base and spinal surgery in collaboration with the neurosurgical care team.

Our surgeons use minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical techniques when possible, for less pain, fewer complications and a return home sooner. Your surgeon will follow you closely after head or neck surgery, explaining recovery timelines, activity restrictions, signs to watch for and any rehabilitation needed.

Advanced hearing loss options

Our team includes OHN surgeons highly skilled in performing intricate surgeries to correct some forms of hearing loss. This includes cochlear implants for eligible candidates. We use minimally invasive techniques, so you experience exceptional results without a lengthy recovery.

Why choose us for head and neck surgery?

When you are experiencing ENT, head and neck issues, you want to be assured of excellence in all the aspects of otolaryngology diagnosis and treatment. When you choose us, you will receive advanced surgical care combined with the compassion you expect from the best health care practitioners. That includes:
