About
Philosophy of care
I treat patients as a whole and not just based on individual symptoms. Difficult to heal wounds are often the result of other medical issues that also need to be identified and treated. We need to do a better job promoting preventive medicine and overall wellness, with improved lifestyle choices, to address many chronic medical issues.
Why I entered medicine
Like many others I went into medicine to help people. After watching all the doctors, but particularly our family physician, take care of my father when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, I knew it was what I wanted to do.
Community involvement
I have been involved with youth sports for many years, particularly coaching my kids through their local recreation and travel sports programs.
Personal interests
I enjoy time with my wife and three kids. I am also active and enjoy running, cycling, surfing and all ocean activities. I am very interested in preventive and lifestyle medicine and have co-authored a book with my wife on secrets to a healthy and happy life.
