Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN)’s Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency is a 12-month program that includes clinical and didactic education.
The mission of the LVHN Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency program is to develop neurologic rehabilitation specialists who provide compassionate, personalized care to the people of our community, supported by the most up-to-date evidence-based practices. We leverage the strength and diversity of our health network to provide residents with a comprehensive learning experience comprising acute, sub-acute and outpatient settings. We foster professional growth through multidisciplinary collaboration and innovation and seek to advance knowledge in the field for the benefit of the community.
This program offers residents the ability to:
- Gain experience working in outpatient, inpatient rehabilitation and acute inpatient settings.
- Collaborate with more than 46 neuro-based experts in physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology.
- Partner with more than 25 physicians within Lehigh Valley Fleming Neuroscience Institute.
- Examine and treat patients from our dedicated specialty centers of care for conditions such as multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
- Participate in specialty clinics and support groups.
- Access technology such as: BITS, Frenzel goggles, EquiTest, STISIM M4000 driving simulator, Dynavision, VitalStim, Armeo, Bioness H200/L300, Virtualis, Vector, GAITRite, LiteGait, AlterG, Tobii Dynavox eye gaze system, C-Mill.
- Evaulate and treat a caseload entirely dedicated to neurologic conditions at the expanding Neuro-Destination Center.
- Work in a Comprehensive Stroke Center accredited by The Joint Commission.
