The Lehigh Valley Health Nework (LVHN) Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency is a 12-month long program inclusive of 1,920 hours of clinical and didactic education. This includes more than 300 didactic hours including educational sessions by physician experts in neurology and physiatry, board-certified neurologic physical therapists, and occupational therapists with clinical expertise in neurology. This is supplemented through partnership with the Neuroconsortium and Medbridge. Residents will receive at least 150 one-on-one mentored hours.
Physical therapy neurology residents will practice primarily in one of our dedicated neurologic outpatient rehabilitation clinics. This will be supplemented with additional weekly hours in inpatient acute and acute rehabilitation settings. LVHN offers Pennsylvania’s first The Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, neuroscience medical-surgical units, neuroscience and trauma ICUs, one of the largest emergency departments in Pennsylvania and inpatient rehabilitation centers.
