Sports Medicine Fellowship COVID-19 FAQs

How will the COVID-19 pandemic impact this year’s residency recruitment and interview season?

The safety and well-being of our applicants is of the utmost importance to us. We want to be sure that all applicants have equal opportunities during the interview season in the safest environment possible. As such, we will be following the recommendations in the “The Coalition for Physician Accountability’s Work Group on Medical Students in the Class of 2022 Moving Across Institutions for Interviews for Postgraduate Training” and all interviews will be held virtually throughout the entire 2021-2022 interview season.

What format will be used for the virtual interview days?

We are in the process of building our virtual interview day format. We want to be sure to make our interview day as informative and comfortable as possible for our applicants. As more details are available, we will be sure to update this page accordingly.

How will applicants be able to get a “feel” for the program without visiting in person?

We are deeply saddened that applicants won’t have the opportunity to come and see our hospital and meet our faculty and residents in person this year. One of our program’s biggest strengths is the ability to cultivate a supportive environment for our trainees to grow and develop into skilled primary care sports medicine physicians.

We are hard at work developing ways to share everything you need to know with you in a virtual format. We are working on getting photos, videos and tours of our facilities for you to review as you research our residency, our health network, and the Lehigh Valley.
