Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN)’s Geriatrics Fellowship is a one-year program developed through a partnership between LVHN’s departments of family medicine and internal medicine. This fellowship encompasses clinical experience, scholarly activity and didactic instruction.

Lehigh Valley Health Network and Jefferson Health combined into one health system in 2024. The combination creates a leading integrated academic health care delivery system, alongside a national doctoral research university and an expanded not-for-profit health plan. The combined health system is among the top 15 not-for-profit health systems in the U.S. with 65,000 colleagues, 32 hospitals and more than 700 sites of care in the Lehigh Valley, Delaware Valley, northeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.

LVHN comprises 15 hospital campuses plus numerous health centers, physician practices, rehabilitation locations, ExpressCARE sites and other outpatient care locations in 10 eastern Pennsylvania counties.

LVHN’s division of geriatrics, housed within the departments of family and internal medicine, consists of 13 physicians and 13 nurse practitioners who provide care for a vast variety of diagnoses across multiple settings. Our geriatricians have been awarded multiple grant-projects and work with family medicine residents and University of South Florida Health Morsani College of Medicine students to produce unique research projects, abstracts and case reports yielding publications and presentations on a national level. LVHN has a strong commitment to education as evidenced by its robust graduate medical education department. Given its large, dedicated faculty and access to a wide variety of patients in many different settings, LVHN is able to provide a unique educational experience for its trainees, offering exposure to a wide variety of patient problems, locations of care and leading-edge teachers.
