Lehigh Valley Health Network’s (LVHN) Geriatrics Fellowship is a one-year program developed through a partnership between LVHN’s departments of family medicine and internal medicine. This fellowship encompasses clinical experience, scholarly activity and didactic instruction.

LVHN is the largest and most advanced provider of health care in the region with 14 hospital campuses in eastern Pennsylvania. The network provides extensive services to geriatrics across a variety of medical settings, including acute-care hospitals, acute rehabilitation units, post-acute care, outpatient primary and specialty care, long-term care and home- and facility-based hospice. LVHN functions as a major referral center for neighboring communities within a 50-mile radius.

LVHN’s division of geriatrics, housed within the departments of family and internal medicine, consists of 14 physicians and 10 nurse practitioners who provide care for a vast variety of diagnoses across multiple settings. Our geriatricians have been awarded multiple grant-projects and work with family medicine residents and University of South Florida Health Morsani College of Medicine students to produce unique research projects, abstracts and case reports yielding publications and presentations on a national level. LVHN has a strong commitment to education as evidenced by its robust graduate medical education department. Given its large, dedicated faculty and access to a wide variety of patients in many different settings, LVHN is able to provide a unique educational experience for its trainees, offering exposure to a wide variety of patient problems, locations of care and cutting-edge teachers.

Meet Our Fellow

“The spark behind pursuing geriatrics really started in my youth as I witnessed my grandparents living with dementia. It was honed during my residency through research focusing on inclusive care for older adults and fostering communication between health care professionals and their patients. I recognize the importance of additional training through fellowship to honor my family and better work with and empower my patients and their families.”
