Losing a loved one is difficult. As a branch of Lehigh Valley Hospice, Lehigh Valley Health Network’s bereavement services offer emotional, psychological, and spiritual support through a variety of group and individual counseling options to help people cope with grief and loss.
We are pleased to be offering support groups in smaller sizes, both in-person and virtually through WebEx conferencing. Days/times of our groups may have changed. Please call Lehigh Valley Bereavement Services at 610-402-7481 for more information.
Individual, family and couples counseling
This service provides bereaved family and friends of our Hospice patients the opportunity to get the individual attention they need to help transition through the grieving process. It also serves to support the family dynamic structures that may be impacted during this difficult time. Appointments are seen at our Hospice Offices: 2024 Lehigh Street, Allentown, PA 18103. Bereavement Support Groups (for adults)
Hospice Bereaved Group – available only to those who had a loved one die on Lehigh Valley Hospice
LEHIGH VALLEY GROUP -- This bi-monthly support group is created especially for family members of those we served on Lehigh Valley Hospice. The group meets on either Mondays or Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at 2024 Lehigh St., Allentown, PA. Please call for more information and to register (610) 402-7481.
POCONO AREA GROUP -- This six-week group is for Hospice Bereaved and grieving members of the local community in the Pocono region. The group meets on Tuesdays from 10-11 a.m. at 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA. Please call (570) 421-5390 for more information.
Memorial Art Group: Healing Through Creative Expression
Led by a board-certified art therapist, this adult group requires no artistic ability! We meet the third Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30 pm at our hospice offices. Please call for more information and to register, 610-402-7481.
Pregnancy & Infant Loss – Virtual Group
For those who have experienced a death through miscarriage, stillbirth or an infant. Our group meets virtually on the first Thursday of every month starting at 6 p.m. Please call for registration and the WebEx link.
Social Groups (for adults)

Ladies Lunch Club – 11:30 a.m.– 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month.

Children’s Programs
Stepping Stones – A four-week grief care program for children (ages 6 - 15) and their families.
Next program dates TBD.
Camp Cocoon – This one-day camp program is filled with activities and play for children (ages 6 - 12) who have experienced a death loss and could benefit from a safe place to express their grief.

Grief Support for the Loss of a Military Loved One
T.A.P.S. Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors: TAPS provides compassionate care to all those grieving the death of a military loved one.
GriefShare
A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability – and gain solid support each step of the way.
Support Group for Survivors of Suicide Loss
This monthly support group meets in person at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest. This group is for people ages 18 and older who have lost a loved one to suicide (recently or in the past).
Healing Conversations | AFSP
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) offers Healing Conversations, a one-time visit (phone, virtual, in-person) that connects those who have lost a loved one to suicide with trained volunteers who are also survivors of suicide loss. The goal of this connection is to help recent survivors navigate this challenging journey by offering support, connection and resources.
Suicide Bereavement Trained Clinicians | AFSP
One goal of the Suicide Bereavement Clinician Training program is to provide those who have lost a loved one to suicide with a list of clinicians who are knowledgeable about bereavement after suicide and able to provide grief therapy for survivors.
Practical Information for Immediately After a Loss | AFSP
The immediate aftermath of a loved one’s suicide is a challenging, confusing and painful time. The information will help get you through the first few days with a better understanding of the things you’re likely to face.

Connect with others who have lost a loved one to suicide, hear how they have navigated their loss, and learn how to support loss survivors.
LVHN Pregnancy Loss Program
LVHN’s team of maternal fetal medicine specialists offers guidance for women who have suffered more than one miscarriage or have had a stillbirth.

PCFLV continues to provide services and programs to families who have lost a child to cancer. These families have bonded with fellow pediatric cancer families and PCFLV staff, and they are invited to join in any of our activities and events.
