Jefferson Health announces plans for its fourth annual Free Community Walk-in Flu Shot Clinic at Health Center at Carbon, 2226 Blakeslee Drive E., Lehighton, Saturday, Oct. 17, 7:30 – 10:30 a.m.
“The flu vaccine can help reduce the symptoms and severity of illness if you do get the flu and lower your risk of hospitalization,” say Shuisen Li, DO, Associate Chief Medical officer, Lehigh Valley Hospital-Carbon.
A standard-dose influenza vaccine will be administered to individuals ages 6 months through 64 years. Those age 65 and older will be offered a high-dose vaccine designed to provide enhanced protection. Supplies are limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration is necessary.
Those planning to receive a flu shot during the walk-in vaccination clinic should wear loose-fitting clothing so the shot can be administered in the arm or the leg for children under age 2.
Everyone receiving a flu shot is asked to review the vaccine information statement and fill out a consent form by visiting LVHN.org/flushot. Please bring a completed and signed consent form for each person receiving a flu shot. There will be consent forms available if you do not have access to a printer.
