What to expect
At LVHN Injury Center–1250 Cedar Crest, you’ll be seen by nationally ranked orthopedic experts. Your clinician will review your medical history, symptoms and perform a physical examination. If they think you may have a fracture, you may be sent for an X-ray in the same building.
Your clinician will create a treatment plan based on your diagnosis to help you get back to doing what you love. Some treatment options may include:
- Casting or splinting your injury to allow it to heal
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs) medications for pain relief and to decrease swelling
- RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) method to reduce swelling
If follow-up care is needed, your clinician will coordinate imaging, physical therapy or additional care from a specialist through Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, part of Jefferson Health.
