Jefferson Health cut the ribbon on LVHN-Dunmore, an orthopedic destination center that was established and opened to patients just six months after the February fire on the campus of Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)-Dickson City. The center represents a significant milestone in the community's recovery.
“Opening LVHN–Dunmore reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring patients and families across Northeastern Pennsylvania have convenient access to the care they need, close to home,” says Joseph G. Cacchione, MD, Chief Executive Officer, Jefferson. “Thanks to the extraordinary hard work and perseverance of our colleagues, community partners, and the support of the Scranton community, essential musculoskeletal services, including convenient walk-in orthopedic care are available once again.”
LVHN–Dunmore is a one-stop destination for orthopedic care and medical services, located at 1010 O’Neill Highway, Dunmore.
The LVHN Injury Center–Dunmore offers walk-in care for orthopedic injuries such as broken bones or fractures, joint separations, ligament and tendon injuries, muscles pulls and tears, slip and fall injuries, sprains and strains, and more. On-site imaging is also available, so you can walk in, be treated, and get back to what you love doing as quickly as possible.
Additional services offered include orthopedics and sports medicine, podiatry, rehabilitation services, and a cardiac diagnostic center.
“Timely access to expert orthopedic care can make a meaningful difference,” says Baligh Yehia, MD, President, Jefferson Health. “Whether it's a student-athlete who twists an ankle during a football game, a parent who hurts their hand while working in the yard, or someone who injures a shoulder while lifting something heavy at home, patients can walk in and be evaluated by orthopedic specialists without an appointment.”
“Opening LVHN–Dunmore is the first of many comebacks for the Scranton community. We are deeply grateful for our community’s support and confidence in us during this time of rebuilding,” says Christopher Henderson, MD Chief, Division of Orthopedic Spine Surgery, Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, part of Jefferson Health. “With surgical and nonsurgical orthopedic experts in one location, you’ll receive the same world-class care you’ve trusted in this community for more than 30 years.”
“We are committed to providing exceptional healthcare and investing in the Scranton community as we continue to rebuild following the fire,” says Raymond Bernardi, PharmD, Vice President of Operations, LVH–Dickson City. “At LVHN–Dunmore, you have access to the expanded services you expect and deserve right here in your neighborhood.”
