Lehigh Valley Cancer Institute gives you more chances to become cancer free with immunotherapy. This treatment uses your immune system to clear cancer cells from the body, in much the same way as you get rid of a cold. Through clinical trials, you have access to options that aren’t widely available.

Your immune system protects you against disease by clearing harmful cells from the body. For reasons researchers are still exploring, the immune system does not recognize cancer cells.

Immunotherapy is changing that by “training” the body to detect cancer cells and clear them from the body. Treatments are given as an intravenous (IV) infusion. We offer immunotherapy for many types of cancer including brain tumors, kidney, skin, and lung cancers.
