Page Hierarchy

  1. Services and Treatments
  2. Infusions for Benign Medical Conditions

Cancer is not the only condition that requires infusion. We can provide you with any type of intravenous or injectable therapy given on an outpatient basis.

This may include infusion treatment for diagnosed conditions as diverse as:

  • Crohn’s disease
  • Iron-deficiency anemia
  • Hemochromatosis
  • Lupus
  • Migraine
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Osteoporosis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis

Our multiple locations give you convenient access, whether you need a one-time treatment or repeated infusions. When receiving infusions, you may be at the center for extended periods of time or need to return multiple times. The Cancer Institute’s infusion centers are comfortable so you can have the best experience possible.

How to get a referral

For anemias and other hematologic conditions, primary care clinicians, obstetricians and other specialists will typically refer you to hematology oncology first to make sure that IV treatment is appropriate. If it is, the clinician can schedule you in the infusion center quickly.

For other situations, any clinician with privileges at Lehigh Valley Health Network can send you to the infusion centers. We also accept referrals from outside clinicians, provided they are not hematology or oncology related.
