About

Philosophy of care

As an advanced family nurse practitioner, my philosophy is providing care with respect and dignity to every patient, instead of simply treating the primary complaint, illness or injury. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and respected in my office. I will listen to your concerns, respect your privacy both physically and emotionally, get you involved in your care and assist you in making proper health decisions. As an immigrant, I recognize it can be difficult for a patient who does not understand the language, so I incorporate cultural competency in my practice.

Why I entered medicine

My grandfather inspired me to become a registered nurse and then an advanced registered nurse practitioner. He was sick with multiple chronic medical conditions, including a brain tumor, kidney and cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, hypertension and blindness. I spent numerous nights in the hospital with him, and that opened my eyes to the nursing field and the provider role.

Community involvement

I am a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and of Saint George Orthodox Church.

Personal interests

I love to shop, travel and spend free time with my husband and three wonderful children.
