About
Philosophy of care
The best care begins with listening. Every patient has a unique story, and my goal is to understand not only what is causing your symptoms, but also how those symptoms are affecting your daily life. Patients should feel informed, heard and involved in every treatment decision. Whenever possible I begin with the least invasive treatment options. If surgery is needed, I combine thoughtful planning with evidence-based techniques – including minimally invasive approaches when appropriate – to relieve pain, restore function and help you return to the activities that matter most to you.
Why I entered medicine
Medicine combines science, problem-solving and the privilege of helping people. I was drawn to orthopedic spine surgery because restoring mobility and reducing pain can dramatically improve a person's quality of life. One of the most rewarding aspects of my career is seeing patients regain their independence – whether returning to work, playing with their children or grandchildren, enjoying hobbies again or simply living without chronic pain.
Personal interests
I enjoy time with my wife and daughter, staying active through fitness, cooking, traveling and following Philadelphia sports. Family is an important part of my life, and I value the balance that comes from spending quality time together and enjoying the outdoors whenever possible.
