Philosophy of care

Every patient deserves the same level of care that we pioneered and practice for the professional athletes I have served for three decades. That exposure has taught me a great deal about leading a "championship organization" like the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute. I am humbled to be a member of a team with the sophistication to be a premier destination for all orthopedic procedures and an authentic caring culture.

Why I entered medicine

Medicine "found me" before my teens. Since then, I have been the beneficiary of a combination of serendipity and mentorship that has given me the opportunity to serve and study. At this stage of my career, my priority is to give back by building the strongest team in orthopedic surgery so our community will not only have the best care close-to-home, but the region and country will look to the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute as a premier destination for care.

Community involvement

My wife and I have concentrated our community and philanthropic efforts primarily in two domains. First, we have directed considerable effort to community economic development, the transition from industrial legacies to knowledge-based innovation hubs to improve human life and create economic opportunities. Second, my wife is an established leader in preservation and beautification of the natural environment; there may be no better place to access and contribute to an array of nature's gifts than the Lehigh Valley.

Personal interests

My three decades in professional sports has always motivated me to remain physically active. I love the game of golf and other outdoor pursuits. Our family enjoys travel, cooking and lifelong learning.
