We’re proud to be recognized as LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leaders in the Human Rights Campaign’s Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) 2022.

Health Equality Index Leader

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) hospitals (Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Cedar Crest, LVH–Muhlenberg, LVH–17th Street, LVH–Pocono and LVHN–Tilghman) received this designation.

HEI is the national benchmarking tool that evaluates health care facilities’ commitment to the equity and inclusion of their LGBTQ+ patients, visitors and employees. HEI evaluates and scores health care facilities on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars:

  • Foundational policies and training in LGBTQ+ patient-centered care
  • Patient care services and support for members of the LGBTQ+ community
  • Colleague policies and benefits
  • Patient and community engagement
